From co-founding Xten Networks (now CounterPath), whose SIP clients powered voice for Yahoo!, Vonage, and Deutsche Telekom, to chairing the W3C groups that defined WebRTC and ORTC — Erik has been at the center of every major shift in how humans communicate through technology.
Now, with the rise of autonomous AI agents and platforms like OpenClaw, Erik is applying that same deep technical foundation to the next frontier: building intelligent systems that don't just connect people, but think, decide, and act on their behalf.

Founded Xten Networks and built one of the most widely deployed SIP softphones in the world. Clients included Yahoo!, Vonage, and Deutsche Telekom. Won 6 industry awards before the company was acquired and became CounterPath.
Hookflash & WebRTC Standards
Co-founded Hookflash, an enterprise real-time communications SDK company. Simultaneously led the W3C ORTC Community Group as Founder & Chair, and served as Co-Chair of the W3C WebRTC Working Group — shaping the standards that power video and voice on the modern web.
Dialpad & SignalWire
Served as VP of Global Client Solutions at Dialpad (Andreessen Horowitz portfolio), then as VP of Product at SignalWire — driving product strategy for next-generation communications platforms.
Snapsonic Technologies
Launched Snapsonic Technologies — an agentic engineering consultancy applying two decades of communications expertise to the autonomous AI revolution. Building custom AI agents, intelligent workflows, and production-grade autonomous systems for forward-thinking businesses.
